Bengaluru, Jul 19: Even as uproar continues over the suicide of DySPs M K Ganapati and Kallappa Handibag, a woman cop on Tuesday July 19 attempted to end her life in the police station.
Rupa, who serves as sub-inspector at Vijayanagar police station here, allegedly tried to commit suicide in uniform by consuming sleeping tablets.
Station inspector immediately rushed her to hospital, where she is undergoing treatment in the ICU. Her condition is said to be serious.
It is said that the police officer of the Vijayanagar station stated in the diary that Rupa had failed to her job efficiently. Growing angry at the negative comment, Rupa reportedly threatened to end her life in uniform 'just like DySP Ganapati'. Thereafter, she consumed sleeping pills.
Bengaluru central division DCP Sandeep Patil visited Rupa at the hospital.
