Wheel chairs, sewing machines to needy, Zakharia Jokatte to get 'Star of Bearys' award

Mangaluru, Aug 12: Dubai-based Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) will distribute scholarships to 600 economically backward pre university college students, wheel-chairs to physically challenged people and sewing machines to economically backward women from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on August 14 at Loyola Hall here.
Addressing media persons here at press club on Friday, August 12, M E Moolur, president of the BCF, said "Kaup Mohammed, the dean from UAE London American City College, will hold a career symposium on the day which will be inaugurated by Khazi of Udupi Al Haj Ibrahim Musliyar and Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo."
"The scholarship and wheelchair distribution programme will be inaugurated by chief adviser of BCF and managing director of Zain international hotels, Zupharulla Khan. DK district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, fisheries minister Pramod Madhwaraj, food and civil supplies minister U T Khader, chief whip of legislative council, Ivan D'souza, MLA Moideen Bava and may other dignitaries will take part in the function." he added.
"Zakharia Jokatte, chief of Al Muzain company, Jubail, Saudi Arabia will be bestowed with 'Star of Bearys 2016' award and 9 students who have done exceptionally well in SSLC and PUC exams and one sports person who have achieved in sports will be given 'BCF award'." he said.
Chief Secretary of BCF Dr Kaup Mohammed, BCF patron B A Mumtaz Ali and others were present at the press meet.
