Bengaluru, Aug 14: “A convention will be held demanding a ban of export of beef to other countries.” said state minister Roshan Baig on Saturday, August 13.
Roshan Baig was speaking in a function organised by Christians titled ‘Sneha Milana- 2016’, a religious harmony meeting here.
“The people from the majority community are more involved in the export of beef from the country. But when the allegations come, people from minority communities are targeted. We want to bring together the Muslims, Christians, Jains, Sikhs and Parsis and hold a mega convention in Bengaluru city to demand the ban on export on beef,” Baig said.

“Prime minister hardly lives in India. He is seen in foreign countries most of the time. Hence he does not understand the ground realities which do exist in the country. He married a woman and abandoned her in Gujarat. He should take care of her at least.” Baig mocked.
“Increased atrocities are taking place against Dalits in the past one month. But Modi did not say anything about these things. Now with his eyes on the Uttar Pradesh elections, he has started shedding crocodile tears. But the people are not going to trust him,” Baig added.
“The contribution of Christians to the field of education is immense. Most of the Sangh Parivar and Bajrang Dal leaders graduated from the institutes run by Christians. But now they are talking poisonous things about Christians.” Baig opined.
MLC Ivan D’Souza also spoke on the occasion and praised the contribution of Christians to the national development though they constitute only 3 % of the total population.
Former MP H T Sangliana, AICC minority unit vice president Anil Thomas, legislators Vinisha Niro, Rizwan Arshad and Dr Seema Fernandes were present among others.
