Bengaluru, Aug 28: “If you want justice in the state which is governed by dacoits, then you need to resort to violence only. All the people who lost homes due to BBMP demolition drives should go to Vidhana Soudha with machetes in their hands.” said former speaker Krishna here on Saturday, August 28.
He was speaking at Town Hall where hundreds of protestors had gathered to vent their anger and register protest against the BBMP demolitions and to demand justice and accountability from the government.
“BBMP is acting only against poor people and protecting the rich. Poor people have suffered because of the corruption of officials and illegal activities of builders. While I have my doubts that the government will even touch the builders, what can be done is to bring transparency by publishing the maps in each and every ward.” Krishna added.
“People have lost fighting spirit these days. Even when they vote, they do not go beyond caste and money. Hence the reflections of voters are found in Vidhana Soudha. People are rotten now.” Krishna opined.
Participating in the programme hosted by a city-based organisation, residents spoke about the corruption in BBMP, and how corrupt government officials and the land mafia have completely taken over the city and the administration itself.
