Illegal transportation from Suratkal to Kundapur- 150 Kgs meat seized

Kundapur, Aug 31: Big quantity of cow meet which was illegally transported from Suratkal to Kundapur was seized by Kota police near Thekkatte check post here on Wednesday, August 31.

More than 150 kilograms of cow meet has been seized. Person named Imthiaz from Suratkal has been arrested and the 407 vehicle which was used to transport the meat has also been seized.


Cow meat filled in container boxes was being transported from Suratkal. Police personnel at Kota Murukai check post stopped the vehicle but the driver did not stop. Being suspicious, police stopped the vehicle again at Thekkatte check post. Upon checking, illegal cow meet was found in the vehicle.

Case has been registered in Kota police station.

    Karhik, I believe it was a cow sold to this person as the cow was not giving milk & now had become a burden & the owner needs money . So it was sold for a huge profit.

    You are right Jossey..... Mostly buffaloes and Bulls are slaughtered... For Eg, now the Eid festival is coming and Muslims will sacrifice ed animals like goats, sheep ,bulls, buffaloes, BUT NEVER COWS.... In bhatkal , there is a Mela now, where farmers are selling their bulls and buffaloes... The sale is done in a big ground covered by trees,,,,There are not less than thousand animals ( goats, sheep, bulls, buffaloes ) But you will not find a single COW there... If you have any friends in Bhatkal, you can request them to verify by taking photos.....It is only the media talking , it is Cow meat always... Check the reality....

    I had an occasion to be a witness in a case in a Mangalore court recently .I had to give witness for a muslim boy of just 23-24 years.Case was relating to 11 year back who accompanied the first accused who was no more.My conscious told me the young boy at 11 yrs back who accompanied the accused was just by accident and not by intention.
    Prosecution was to book the innocent boy.I felt so sad at the young boy and I acted what my soul wanted to do.Boy was saved and let go.Even today I feel that I have done a noble deed.Boy was really innocent without any doubt.Had this boy would have provided with proper education things would have entirely different.I just prayed for the youth.

    Police is very quick to catch illegal meat transporters, it's ok but so many rapists, murderers including high profile easily getting slipped!
    Human life value is neglected by Kesari Police.
    Injustice to Humans who are paying taxes through which Police dept getting paid.

    Strange law !!!!!!!!
    Why ban only on cow meat
    why not on male/ female buffalo meat. As the milk of female buffalo is used for human consumption rather more than cow milk.
    Is it because govt. earn heavy revenue from beef export ( as per the report beef export is expected to cross RS 400k crore in 3 years)
