Mangalore, Dec 10: City sleuths have arrested a fake journalist on Monday, December 10 afternoon. 
 
He was identified as Vinay Kumar (27) son of Rajashekar, residing at door number 51/83, 1st Main Road, Marenahalli, Bangalore. 




Vinay Kumar, an impersonating reporter claiming to be working for ‘Arjun’ Kannada daily published from the state capital, arrived at the office of Southern zone excise commissioner, located at Mary Hill on Friday, December 7 and again on Monday, December 10, who threatened excise inspector, Mamatha, stating that he has the evidence to prove that excise officers are receiving a bribe of Rs 2 to 3 thousand from each of liquor shops under their domain. 

Moreover he reported tried to black mail her to shell out Rs 10 thousand to hush up the case.  The policemen from Kavoor who were waiting for Vijay Kumar on his second visit to excise office, arrested when he was engaged in verbally threatening excise inspector, Mamatha on Monday, December 10.  He was presented before the JMFC at 8.00 pm, who awarded him to judicial custody.
