Mangaluru, Sep 7: Reacting to various reports making the rounds in the media about restrictions imposed by the college on its students, principal of St Aloysius PU College in the city, Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, has clarified that the college has not forced upon the students any anti-student rules and regulations.
In a release, he said that the college has been imparting value-based education to student community. "In the larger interests of the student community, and as per the suggestions put forth by the parents and guardians, some rules were implemented for better discipline. A women's forum to check conduct of girl students has been formed through which girl student are imparted knowleldge about these things.
But in the recent past, some anti-culture minds, by misunderstanding the above things, have been making efforts to sully the image of the college, a development about which the college is disturbed. Our educational institution has been working to preserve culture, the principal said in a release.
