At the programme presided over by Karnataka Sahitya Academy president M Janaki Brahmavara, BJP leader Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar, Vadodara corporation mayor Bharath Danger, local corporation official Manish Pagar, Dakshina Kannada district BJP youth leader advocate Harish Poonja, Bunta Sangha Mumbai former president Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, Bhavani foundation founder Daddangadi Chelladka Kusumodhara Deranna Shetty, Soorath entrepreneur Radhakrishna Shetty, Karnataka Malla Kannada daily assistant editor Srinivasa Jokatte, Udayavani Kannada daily Mumbai edition assistant editor Dr Dinesh Shetty Renjala were present as guests of honour.
Janaki Brahmavara in her presidential address said that selfless service brings about efficiency. “It is true that Tulu language will never die. Tulu Sangha Baroda has proved it. Activities in Tulu are increasing abroad and they are spreading in mobiles also. May Tulu power be filled with reverence,” she said.
Tulu Sangha Baroda honorary president Dayananda Bontra, convener S K Haleangady, former president S Jayarama Shetty and others were present on the dais.
Karnataka Sahitya Academy members, office bearers of related groups and associations were felicitated on the occasion.
Vaishnavi D Shetty sang a prayer. Karnuru Mohan Rai introduced the guests and compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary Balakrishna Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
