Brahmavar, Jan 2:  Awards and titles are not news to Wilson Olivera whose voice often reminds one about Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus.  Awards have come in galore for him eversince he staged his first nite way back in mid 90s.  Recently he was conferred with Konkani Manik award by Konkani buffs in Kuwait.  Wednesday January 2 evening was once again a special evening for him as he was bestowed with "Sangeeth Sardar" title by The Expressions during a small stage programme which was held in between the The Expressions Wilson Olivera Silver Jubilee Nite.

Dr Joseph Gonsalves conferred the award on Wilson.  He was draped with shawl, presented with citation on the occasion.  Accepting the honour Wilson thanked The Expressions and everyone present for their constant support to nurture his talent.   Archibald Gonsalves of Barkur delivered the keynote address on the occasion while The Expressions' convener Kishore Gonsalves (Kishoo Barkur) read the citation.  The Expressions president Denis Rodrigues, other office-bearers and members were present on the dais.  Eric Soans compered the formal function.

Meanwhile Wilson Olivera's silver jubilee nite continued to entertain the audience to the maximum with back-to-back melodious and foot-tapping numbers.  Konkani melody queen Zeena Pereira's solo number 'Mai Mai Maka Novro' once again proved that hardly there is anyone who can match Zeena is entertaining the audience.  This number was followed by one of Wilson's superhit foot-tapping number 'Tujea Galancher Tambsann' sung melodiously by well-known Rony Crasta.  Rhythm Udupi accompanied Rony with their eye-catching dance performance.  Young, up and coming Nisha Sequeira who has already made her foray into Konkani music was the next star performer with her solo number.  But the next number which was also the first duet number of the evening by Zeena and Adolf was indeed the performance of the evening.

Wilson's younger brother and renonwed compere of Toastmasters' fame Ronald Olivera who compered for the first time at Brahmavar was indeed at his best.  His compering skills received special appreciation from one and all.
