Mumbai, Jan 5: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 35 per cent water in the city for six days starting January 6, owing to hydraulic work being undertaken by the civic body.
Once the work is completed on January 11, it will bring in an extra 70 million litres daily (mld) of water to the city.
During the period of the water cut, BMC will be undertaking two other projects - first, connecting old Upper Vaitarna mains to the newly laid 3,000 mm mains in a six-km long stretch between Yewai and Pugaon region in Thane district and the second, connecting the same 3,000 mm pipelines to the existing 2,750 mm pipelines supplying water from the Bhandup distillation plant.
