Mangaluru, Nov 29: Continuing with his tirades against the state chief minister, Siddaramaiah, and several ministers of his cabinet, former union minister and senior Congress leader, B Janardhana Poojary, raked up the issue of alleged involvement of three state ministers in Yettinahole project scandal.
"Three ministers from the state are facing allegations of accepting bribe of Rs 50 crore in connection with the above project. I hereby ask Siddaramaiah to make public the names of such ministers, after collecting details from intelligence department. He should also interrogate the ministers concerned and bring out the details thereto. In case of your failure to do so, there are possibilities of you also being projected as a partner in this crime and getting tainted in this scandal," he said, addressing the chief minister.
Poojary demanded dropping of the ministers facing allegations relating to the said scandal from the ministry immediately. He said that because of this allegation, the party high command too faces an awkward situation. "If you have some morality and respect, take steps to protect the honour and dignity of our party," he told Siddaramaiah.
Regarding the Yettinahole project, Poojary said "The state government has nothing to address the demands of the protesters. It is a shame that the CM is not taking the coastal people into consideration and is going ahead with Yettinahole project. Siddaramaiah should withdraw the project and give justice to the people of coastal region."
About the lacklustre response to Aakrosh Divas observance supported by the state government on Monday, Poojary felt that people did not support it as they have lost faith in the chief minister. He felt that the chief minister was not right in expressing his opposition to the bandh call.
Poojary also cast serious allegation on BJP, saying that in organizing backward classes convention at Bengaluru, in which national president of the party, Amit Shah, had participated, it had spent black money.
About retention of Tanveer Sait, who was accused of having been caught watching obscene material on cellphone during Tipu Jayanti programme, Poojary came down on Siddaramaiah again, saying that he latter lacks the guts to oust the minister.
