Ishara International Puppet Theatre Festival to begin from Feb 3


New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS): Reviving the tradition of story telling through puppetry, the 15th Ishara International Puppet Theatre Festival will begin from Friday.

From the traditional to modern forms of puppetry, ranging from rod to string puppets to mixed performances with dance, theatre, music and more -- the festival has a dazzling line-up of pioneering puppetry entertainment and storytelling for all ages.

Alongside the best talent India has to offer, puppeteers, artistes and performers from across the world will come together to celebrate the art of puppetry.

The festival which will be held in Delhi, Gurugram and Chandigarh has participants from countries like Afghanistan, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Palestine, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan.

"The festival celebrates the spirit of creative expression and this edition is back with more spectacular shows and performances from all across the world. Whether you're aged nine or ninety - get ready to be entertained with a variety of sensational, inspirational and magical shows," Sanjoy Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts said in a statement.

The festival from February 3-10 will be organised at the Indian Habitat Centre in Delhi, Auditorium-Artemis Hospital Gurugram and the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh.
