Mangaluru Feb 4: Beary Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) organised a seminar on 'Business Development and Entrepreneurship' at IMA hall here on Friday February 3.

In his introductory speech executive member of BCCI, Kasim Ahmed said, "A lot of questions were raised on the clarity lacking in the business forum. Business forum helps to strengthen the financial foundation which will benefit the country. GDP is connected to the financial strength of the country and at the same time it is necessary to meet the benchmark and contribute towards strengthening the financial aspect of the country.

Speaking on the topic 'Industrial Policy and Subsidies', retired joint director district industry centre, S G Hegde said, "The 21st century can be termed the age of competition, quality and intellect. If these elements are applied, then one can be successful."

"This seminar gives in depth information on business entrepreneurship and provides the right direction to move on the right path. Without proper guidance and training one must not jump into starting a business as there is a possibility of greater difficulties arising along the way."

"Before beginning a business, it is crucial for a market survey to be conducted to ensure whether the project is technically feasible, otherwise it could lead to major losses. Market value, competitiveness, location, finance required need to be looked into and only then can there be success."

Chartered accountant Nithin J Shetty spoke on 'Trade and Entrepreneurship'.

President of BCCI, Haji S M Rasheed, general secretary BCCI, Imthiyaaz were present.
