Bantwal, Feb 21: BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda demanded a ban on Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) and arrest of its leader Abubakkar for issuing inflammatory statements.
Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Gowda said KFD has links with SIMI and other terrorist organizations. “It is helping terrorist groups in spreading their network in the state. The state government should arrest KFD leader Abubakkar without any delay and interrogate him. His arrest and interrogation would provide useful information in tackling terrorist activities in the state,” he said.
Coming down heavily on KPCC president for raising objections against the police for taking the minority community members for interrogation, he said the police should be given a free hand to tackle the issue and senior leaders like Kharge should not give any statement with an eye on vote bank, Gowda said.
Replying to queries he said no one should object to the detention of people by the police for interrogation in connection with terrorist activities. But police should be impartial in arrests and free the arrested persons without any delay if they are found innocent during the interrogation.
Terming the governor’s rule in the state as anti-people, he said the governor instead of implementing the programmes announced in the last budget is trying to form new ones.
