Mangaluru: Will resign from politics if Modi wins 2019 elections - Poojary

Daijworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Poojary announces Rs 50,000 to deceased journalist Chetan Ram's family, from pension

Mangaluru Feb 13: Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary on Monday February 13 took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'disillusioning people with fake promises' and said that if Modi were to win the general elections in 2019, he would resign from politics.

Addressing a press meet here, Poojary said, "Prior to the elections, Modi had made certain promises. But soon after elections he took a U-turn, having failed to deliver them. He had also promised to come back heavily on Pakistan for its provocative firing, pointing out to the failure of the Congress. He promised to arrest and deport terrorists Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar, but after becoming the Prime Minister, he failed to act on his promises."

Poojary challenged Narendra Modi to arrest the Saeed and Azhar or apologise to the people and Congress party.

Addressing himself to Modi, he said, "Delivering speeches is easy and you have been a master in deceiving people with speeches. But the reality is that people in the country are smart and you are being foxed. Stop talking and continue the work. Prove yourself as the Prime Minister of the country. It's a shame that you could not match up with the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahaddur Shashtri and Vajapayee. If you utterly fail to work then it is better to leave the post.

"Demonetisation was a foolish move and you need not be proud, as you made people suffer by making them to stand in long queues to get their own money. You should reveal the details of black money collected and the counterfiet notes from Pakistan.

"It is impossible for Modi to win elections as people will go against him and if in case he does win, I will resign from politics," he asserted.

On CM's alleged kickbacks

When asked about BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa accusing chief minister Siddaramaiah of taking Rs 150 crore as kickbacks in steel bridge project, Poojary said, "Yeddyurappa should produce documents to prove the charges and if he can do so, I wish to garland him for revealing the scam. The media has telecast that Yeddyurappa is one of the most corrupt politicians in the state and I strongly agree with the media's claim."

Rs 50,000 from pension

Poojary also paid floral tribute to journalist Chethan Ram of Sullia who recently passed away due to heart attack.

Poojary also announced that he will provide Rs 50,000 per month from his pension fund to the family of Chethan Ram. "He served at Prajavaani for several years and this money will definitely help Chethan's family in providing education for two of his children," he said.

Kallige Tharnath Shetty, Karunakar Shetty and others were present.

This guy is forgetting very quickly. Just before 2014 general elections he had said that he will quit politics if BJP is elected. BJP won but he did not quit his political carrier. Now Congress wants to throw him out very soon even before 2019 elections. So he will be out of politics in any case.

Forget about Poojarys comments, someone should arrange a meeting to honour all those people who sit in the dias, and reporters who attend Poojarys lecture, as attending itself is a punishment and a free entertainment.

Cong is almost a non-entity hanging on to other parties for survival. It does not have credibility to contest an election on its own fearing a wash out. Only some 'bandhans' are its last options. The local supporters too have shifted their affiliation to Shiva Sena and other regional parties. They lost their face when you crashed into the record books for the 5th time. Your resignation will make no impact anywhere.

In 2011 by-election Poojary challenged Yedyurappa that if BJP win all the three assembly seats, he will retire from politics. But BJP won all the three seats, then Poojary told, BJP not accepted my challenge, so no need to retire!!!!!!!!!!!.

Same Poojary will tell 2019 that Modi not accepted my challenge, so I am not retiring & contesting 2024 election at least for guinness world record!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Jaimini....not only Poojary everyone knows what happend in Rahul Gandhi (The Young charismatic leader of India who is atleast 25 years younger to Modi)....Supporters of Modi sent bunch of hooligans to disrupt Rahul rally. This was the desperate attempt by Modi nd Ahdha, because they already realised that, BJP is losing the big state. This is begining of end for Modi...it will be 5-0 for Non-BJP parties on March 11. It is very easy to send some hired goondas to put the flags of BJP in Congress and SP rally.

First of all both centre and state government should stop giving free money (pension) to both former MPs and MLA's.

Poojary also announced that he will provide Rs 50,000 per month from his pension fund to the family of Chethan Ram. Are you sure?

Many companies have stopped providing tea to their staff as they don't want to recruit another tea boy who may be a politician.

One chai wale has created a nuisance for the whole nation.

Now Poojary is asking Modi to stand for election.
