Pune photographer dies after scooter hits pole at Vagator

Mapusa, Oct 2: A 30-year-old photographer from Pune, Maharashtra, died on the spot after the scooter he was riding collided with a roadside electricity pole at Vagator in the early hours of Wednesday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Akash Adkekar.

According to police, the accident occurred around 4.30 am when Adkekar’s scooter crashed into the electricity pole with considerable force. Locals rushed to the spot and alerted the authorities.

Police said Adkekar suffered severe head injuries in the impact and died at the scene.

Anjuna police reached the spot and conducted a panchanama. The body was taken to the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa and later shifted to the Goa Medical College (GMC) for an autopsy.

Police Sub-Inspector Viraj Naik is investigating the case to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
