Walter Menezes' ‘Zoit Ani Tachi Kavita’ to be Released on Feb 25

Panaji, Feb 25: ‘Zoit Ani Tachi Kavita, a book in Devanagari script authored by Walter Menezes, will be released on Monday February 25 evening, during the programme to be held at Pope John School auditorium, Kepem.  

Prof Jose Salvador Fernandes, Konkani lecturer of Fr Agnel College, Pilar and well-known writer, will release the book. 

Pundalik Naik, chairman of Goa Konknni Academy, will be the chief guest on the occasion.  Chandrakant Babu Kavalekar, chairman of Goa Industrial Development Corporation and eminent citizen of Kepem, will be the guest of honour.

The first book ‘Kodu Sounsar Ani Katha’ authored by Walter Menezes had bagged the award from Konknni Basha Mandal.

He had been awarded junior fellowship in literature by department of culture, union ministry of human resources, during 1991-1993.

‘Zoit Ani Tachi Kavita’ a collection of fifty poems is the second book by Walter Menezes.

Meanwhile, a Konkani programme will be held after the stage programme, attended by Elvis Goes, director, Kepemchim Kirnnam and John Rodrigues, music teacher, Agacaim.

‘Nach Goa Nach’ a play by Vivekanand Kala Manch, Keri, Sattari, choreographed by Pramod Mhadeshwar, will be held as part of entertainment programme.
