Udupi, Feb 28: Mudarangady, Yellur and Padubidri areas, which had remained tense for two days after some youth beat up a driver and salesman of a line sales vehicle, and members of Hind Jagran Vedike took recourse to agitation to get justice for the attacked persons, are back to normal now.

16 persons had been arrested in this connection after registration of two different cases, and the arrested persons were booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code, some of which happen to be non-bailable. All of them were produced in court on Monday February 27, after which the court granted them interim bail.

Advocate from here, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, appeared in the court on behalf of the Hindu activists. He later said that in both the cases filed by the police, the second additional civil court and JMFC court here had granted interim bail to all the accused.

On February 26

In connection with this incident, it is said that argument arose between Munaf from Yellur and Kiran Rao at Belapu auto rickshaw stand on Sunday morning after which Kiran reportedly tried to attack Munaf. When Munaf came back to Yellur sometime later, Kiran Rao, Prasad and Sharan allegedly attacked him with legs, hands and sticks, and injured him. A case about this incident was filed in Padubidri police station on Monday.

Padubidri station house officer, Satish, said that case has been registered against 51 persons including Sudheer Poojary, Surendra, Kartik, Sukhesh, Rayesh Pai, Prakash, Kiran Rao, Suresh, Prashant Kulal, Ganesh Poojary, Akshit, Sunil, Harish, Keertan, Sharatraj, Kartik, and Girish Putran had been arrested on Sunday. Search is on for the absconding accused like Pratheek Shetty, Lokesh, Prajnesh, Kishore Poojary, Satish Shetty, Jnanesh, Kanaka Devadiga, Rakesh Shetty, Jitesh, and several others, who have remained elusive.

Sangh parivar activists agitated not for justice but only because the assailants were Muslim. This show how crook are these people. These goons did not take out procession or agitate when a girl is raped by some of these goondas or some one is killed by them. They dont have job and trying to get money by creating trouble in public. It is the mistake of some poepl who beat the truck driver as they have no right to take law in their hand. however, sangh parivar goondas went on rampage disturbing traffic and beating innocents, damaging place of worship and threatign to destroy the place of worship. These goons should be arrested under goonda act.

These people are root cause for unrest and communal disharmony! If these self styled commandos taking law into hands should be kept inside jail for peaceful co-existence! There should be no mercy on offenders from any religion! Law should be applicable strictly on majority or minority without exception! these goons have no fear and bringing bad name to the community they represent!
