Mangaluru Feb 28: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader speaking to reporters here on Tuesday February 28, said that while he did not mean to hurt anyone by his remarks relating to communal harmony last week.

“Chappals remarks were not made intentionally to hurt the felling of any religion, caste or any organisation. I was only talking about people who disrespect the Constitution.” he clarified.

“When Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan visited Karnataka, it was our duty to treat him and welcome him in a good manner, but Sangha Parivar had called for a bandh which was not right. Every individual has right to protest. But I was deeply hurt when CPI (M) office was set on fire in Thokkottu and stones were pelted at buses in my constituency. It is a black mark on the culture and tradition of coastal Karnataka,” he added.

"I realised that I was wrong to make those remarks. My well wishers, friends also told me that was wrong. The theme of the rally was about creating communal harmony. But I condemn the slogans raised during the CPI (M) rally," Khader said.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has successfully completed four years of his tenure without facing any charges of corruption. He has gained the confidence of people by introducing several schemes. Lot of confusion has been created in the minds of the people by the false allegations made by BJP on Congress. BJP people are trying to destabilise the government. When BJP were in power, they were known for high amount of corruption.”

Khader also mentioned that the union government had scrapped the existing sugar subsidy scheme from the next fiscal which needs many clarifications as the financial year is ending.

Khader further informed that now LPG gas holders can avail a litre of kerosene on monthly basis within the rural area limits.

Khader bhai is courteous, courageous and matured enough to accept his mistake.
For once he must have thought “Lohe ko loha kaat tha hai” and made those remarks.
Then he realized how low he has gone to the opposition level to make them understand in their own language.
He is god fearing personality and hence he accepted what he has done is wrong.
You are a real hero and true gentleman Sir.
    Hats off to you!

RSS and BJP understood kerala CM well in advance, but State chappal Minister understood after he left, any way he was our guest and criticizing guest after his return is not our culture, for this this minister should be awarded with chappal seva.

    Dear Minister,
A few facts for your knowledge
    1. Your party is opposing the same CM tooth and nail in Kerala, even today assembly was boycotted by Congress
    2. The then CM of your part Mr Ooman Chandy had admonished his ministerial colleague for meeting the then CM of Gujarath called Mr. Modi. No respect for a fellow CM. (Please send a chappal to your party colleague).
    3. Let Mr. Vijayan achieve "matha sauharda" in his own state where political killings are happening on a regular basis.

Don't stoop too low for the sake of a few votes. And then don't blame "Sanghis" for spreading "hatred".

I don't support Khader bhai on his chappal comment, what he did is wrong..He should not have told that at first place but he is brave enough to confess his mistake.
But you blind bhakts and chaddis, question for you - When Nalin said he will set DK on fire, you defended him on the comment saying it was out of arrogance but when similar comment (not to the extent of burning down DK) was from Khader, why this drama??

Khadar Bhai.......We respect the Kerala CM post. But this was a protest against Vijayan as a person. Under his direct supervision Kannur has become a killing fields for 40 years. Forget RSS, there are many villages in Kannur dist where your own UDF workers can't even open a party office. They will be attacked by comrades.

RSS/BJP is present all over India, but those have not turned in to killing fields. Take our Mangalore where BJP is strong, but parties don't kill each other. Elections are fought democratically & whatever is the result, its accepted humbly. Why this doesn't happen in Kannur/Thrissur belt ?? Its all due to this man.......Hope you do some fact checking with your UDF colleagues across the border before speaking......

....its fine you oppose BJP/RSS ideology, but you can't support anyone who oppose BJP/RSS blindly.. Congress doing the same mistake in Delhi by supporting left wing/ anti-nationals..communists were the worst enemies for Congress for decades, Left wings responsible for more deaths than any war with Pakistan..whenever they joined hand with Congress in center they did harm than any good to the nation by stalling important bills..by the way, next time when you invite anybody from ANDHRA then make sure to appoint a TELUGU translator, otherwise you wont realise whether they came for harmony or disturb harmony..

Harmony among people could not be achieved in a few minutes or by some individuals. Harmonious living among people years and years together can be called a state of harmony. For that matter we can say that our for fathers lived a harmonious life more than we do today and the worse part is that we are loosing harmony day by day. One cannot stand another because of politics, religion, language, state, country and so on. Let us be matured and live harmonious life rather than talk about harmony and destroy it more and more. Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.

Khader sir is very brave..Two points are enough..

    1. He accepted that his Chappal remark hurt sentiments of people and comment was unintentional..He is not adamant or stubborn now..He is showing maturity..

    2. He accepted that Kerala CM's speech was against Communal harmony..One needs guts to say that ,and especially against Kerala CM....Mr Khader said it..

Generally, people don't accept mistake..They keep on arguing I am right..But Khader bhai is different.. I admire Khader bhai's some qualities very much because of this reason..
