Mangaluru: High-tension wire sparks fire in shop, loss estimated at Rs 15 lac

Mangaluru, Mar 7: A shop was burnt to ashes after a high-tension wire came into contact with it, late night on Tuesday March 7 at Thokkottu here.

The garment shop, Bombay Cotton Bazaar, belonged to Badruddin from Mumbai.

Initial reports stated that a high-tension wire sparked the fire, which soon spread all over the shop.

Fire personnel rushed to the spot along with Ullal police.

 

It is said that the incident caused a loss of around Rs 15 lac.

This is the fourth incident of fire reported in Thokkottu in a fortnight. The first being CPI(M) office on February 23, second being two shops near railway track on February 27 and the third being at Karnataka Bank branch on March 1.

Bombay Cotton Bazaar has been operating since last two years.

    We are all talking about Forest fires? But what about this? Why nobody is bothered about fire in shops causing lakhs of rupees damage. It seems to be something fishy.

    who gave permission to the vendor
    it's a public place and this shop is open from last 4 years ... surprise to see if we have all work done and safety measures perfect we will not get trade license but this Bombay vendor open shop near road with temporary permission for long .

Why minister's name to be dragged in this matter? What you think of his duty? Any idea? Or you want Mr UTK to visit every shops & premises to make a checklist of its licence & other papers!     Even if there was NO license. You haven't done any breach of law in your lifetime in India?
    All street vendors sell their goods with licence. It was a fair business bro grow up.
