Mangaluru, Mar 9: St Ann’s College of Education celebrated international Women’s Day on March 8. The programme commenced with invoking God’s blessings on the prayer service.
The significance of the day was highlighted through a mime show, dances and documentaries. The celebration focused on the role of women in every walk of human life - from womb to tomb. Student teachers screened a documentary – an interview with Sabitha Monis an accomplished woman. A platform to display their talents which included poetry recitation, singing and reading of articles written by student teachers was created. Almost all the BEd and MEd students actively took part in this celebration and showcased their talents. A chart display on various women related themes added colour to the day. A few games were conducted highlighting the achievements of women of our society.
Dr Sr Clare A C, principal, in her message said that every woman has to stand for her rights and develop courage and confidence amidst trials of life and asked them to strive to bring to realization the dreams they have treasured. She also appreciated the efforts of the students in commemorating Women’s Day and for the display of their talents and potentialities. Laveena D’Sa, faculty guided the students in putting up this programme. Faculty members, MEd and BEd students were present.
