Bantwal, Mar 6: Well-known journalist, resource person dramatist and Daijiworld's Bantwal correspondent Mounesh Vishwakarma has been selected for the scholarship given by the Cultural Department of the Union Government.

He is serving as an artiste for the ‘Nirata Niranta’ children’s drama school located in Puttur. He has been active in the drama field for the last 5 years. He will be studying children’s drama under the guidance of senior artiste and drama director K G Krishnamurthy.

Interview for the selection of this scholarship was held in Mumbai in October 2007. Earlier, he served for the total literacy programme and later moved on to the drama field. He worked for ‘Sansara’ and ‘Nirata Niranta’ children’s drama troupe and performed more than 350 street plays and children’s dramas.

He has also directed many plays.  Other than this, he is also a freelance journo and has been contributing to various newspapers, websites etc.  He is one of the contributors to Daijiworld from Bantwal region.
