Panaji, Mar 7: The State authorities will conduct a second autopsy on the dead body of 15-year-old British girl on Friday March 7. The report is expected to make headway for the crucial police investigations in this case.
Teenage British girl Scarlette Eden Keeling was found dead on popular Anjuna sea shore in a semi-nude condition above high tide line with bruises on her body on February 18.
Scarlette was holidaying in the State with her family while on the fateful night her mother had gone to a pilgrim town of Gokarna in neighbouring Karnataka state.
The family members had contested the police claim that the girl died due to drowning. Family's legal advisor Vikram Varma, a Supreme Court advocate, had alleged that the investigating authorities were trying to hide the facts.
The family members had also met the state chief minister Digamber Kamat who had assured the family to personally monitor the case.
North Goa superintendent of police Bosco George on Thursday March 6 said that the second autopsy would be conducted on Scarlette's body on Friday. "We are investigating the case and have put a senior officer to probe it further," he said.
