Panaji, Mar 9: The findings of second autopsy recommending the state police to investigate the death of 15year old British girl as murder has confirmed the family's suspicion that she was raped and murdered.

The second autopsy conducted on the body today by three member panel of doctors today recommended that the police should investigate this case as a homicide. "It was unanimous decision of the panel," North goa superintendent of police Bosco George stated last night.

Scarlette Eden Keeling, 15, a British national was found suspiciously dead at goa;s popular anjuna beach on February 18. Following the first autopsy, which showed bruises on SCarlette's body, the family members had suspected foul play in her death.

Her mother, Fiona Mackowen, had vowed to fight for justice to her daughter and lobbied with the state chief minister Digamber Kamat forcing the police to conduct second autopsy.

The autopsy, which went for almost six hours today, culminated in the evening with the state police insisting that irrespective of autopsy findings, they would investigate the case as possible murder.

Even as the second autopsy was being conducted in the goa government run goa medical college and hospital, the Scarlette's family members had tensed moments. Police maintained silence on the issue awaiting the second autopsy.

The family members heaved a sigh of relief when second autopsy forced the police to investigate the case as murder.

"We have been saying it till day one. I am pleased now. In my heart I knew that she was murdered," Scarlette's mother Fiona stated.

She said that they will fly Scarlette's body to UK within next few days.

Winning the first battle, the family members today lodged a formal complaint against Anjuna police sub inspector Nerlon Albuquerque for misguiding them. "The duty officer and the incharge of police station Anjuna had lied to me about the facts and circumstances of her death," she said in the complaint.

"They have lied to me as well as the media about her body having no bruise marks. They have fabricated the panchanama and misinformed the pathologist about the circumstances of the body and the possible cause of her death," Fiona said.

The mother, however, said that she still have faith in Goa police. "There are still good officer in the force," she said.

This is late but I would like to comment on the msgs from S.Domingo and V. Currie. By the looks of it, you both are obviously males and if females, it does not come as a surprise to me! How can the girl and mother to be blamed? The girl was 15 and in the British standards, quite capable of taking care of herself.

If she did consume lots of alcohol and even if she was left alone by her mother, does it give a human being the 'RIGHT' to rape and murder another being? In that case, both would not be considered a crime if anyone had the right to do whatever he/she felt.

Obviously, you do not have a daughter. Coming to the statement from V. Currie, that people in Goa are sex starved. Please, I can say that people in Mangalore are blood starved keeping in mind the murder of a rickshaw driver! It is the person's fault and he should be brought to justice but a comment like people in Goa are sex starved is totally an insult to the other goans. I hope you both read this message.

Its not entirely fair to blame the police and people of Goa. The girl and her mother are equally to be blamed for this incident. The mother being a tourist to Goa should have known better than to leave her 15 year unmonitored.

Secondly from the stories that i have read so far it looks like this girl was also rather out of control and asked for the situation upon herself. Nevertheless, the culprits should be brought to justice.

Let's look at all facts and what do we learn from this! People in Goa are probably sex starved and this girl being white, probably consumed some alcohol must have incoherently & innocently led this guy on. I am sure his intention was not premeditated, But eventually when the hunger gets stronger and the girl realizes where this is going, must have resisted and he could not control his urge. In the ensuing struggle she must have raised an alarm and the inebriated person, ended up murdering the girl to cover the initial crime.

This is not new to the world and happens all over especially in the Caribbean during spring break. Some we get to know others are never known. Advise: Parents keep an eye on your kids, and it is always good to pay somebody quietly to watch over them. However very important is to teach kids simple self defense tricks that can buy time to bail oneself out of trouble.

It appears that PSI Nerlon Albuquerque was trying to hide facts to save someone. We hope atleast now justice will be done and the culprits brought to book.
