Theft in Hospicio Hospital - Involvement of Staff Suspected

Margao, Mar 11: After the death of 4-year-old girl, allegedly owing to overdose of anesthesia, some 10 days ago in Hospicio Hospital Margao, the hospital is again in limelight as an incident of theft has been reported from the hospital.

It was only a ten days ago that four-year-old girl who was supposed to be operated had died owing to the overdose of anesthesia. However, people’s outcry in this regard had made government to take this issue seriously and special committee was formed to investigate the same matter. But even before the bitter memories of the said case to be erased, the hospital has invited fresh trouble with the robbery case.

Sources said that theft took place on Sunday March 9 and the thieves managed to decamp with a television set which was in the rest room of the doctors. It is suspected that theft might have taken place while doctors were on their rounds.

However, some of the sources said that there could be involvement of hospital staff in this case, as it is not easy to decamp with television set from the hospital as no outsiders are allowed inside the rest

Margao police are investigating the case.
