Sr Humbeline Awarded 'The Jewel of India'

New Delhi, Mar 12: Sr Humbeline, has been awarded the Jewel of India award by the Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi.
The prestigious award was given to her, on 11 February 2008, in recognition of her meritorious services to education and related fields.
The Charity nun, who is presently the Correspondent of Capitanio Educational Institutions, was also the recipient of Gold Medal for the Best Candidate among the B.A. Degree (Economics) graduates from the Bangalore University (1973), the Best Student Award for Journalism by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (1977), Special National Award for Innovative Experiments and Practices by the NCERT, New Delhi (2003), State Level BOLT (Broad-Outlook-Learner-Teacher) Award by Air India (2003) and the Mother Theresa Excellence Award by the World Peace and Friendship Council (2007), and other awards.
Sr Humbeline, who retired from teaching recently, hails from Kulshekar. She has served in various schools in different capacities. She was the Principal of Stella Maris School, Bangalore, St Philomena’s School, Hassan, and Capitanio School Mangalore.
