Mysore Diocese-Mangalorean Docs' Venture St Joseph's Hospital Inaugurated

Mysore, Mar 12: The newly-built St Joseph’s Hospital at Bannimantap here was inaugurated by Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math on Wednesday March 12 at 5.30 pm.
The hospital is a joint venture of six renowned Mangalorean doctors Dr Victor Menezes, Dr Gerry Pais, Dr Gladys Rasquinha, Dr Placid Lasrado, Dr Cristilda Pais, Dr Xavier A D'Souza (all residing in Mysore) and diocese of Mysore that includes Dr Thomas A Vazhapilly, Bishop of Mysore, Fr George Martiz and Fr Marie Raj.
Bishop of Mysore Dr Thomas A Vazhapilly blessed the new hospital.
J Alexander, state chief secretary (rtd) and former state minister for tourism unveiled the memorial plaque on the occasion.
Ayub Khan, mayor of Mysore, Dr Ravindranath, commissioner of police, Ralte L Rinawma, commissioner of income tax, Dr Nagaraj, corporation health officer and Dr Mahadevaiah, district health officer were the guests of honour.
St Joseph’s Hospital (SJH) is a project undertaken by the diocese of Mysore to make the highest standards of medical and nursing care available at an affordable cost.
SJH is a hi-tech modern health care institute. It is a unique blend of Christian service with expert medical care. The hospital aims to help patients get completely cured in body, mind and soul.

Accidents and emergency, ICU care, endoscopy, laparoscopy, obstetrics, endogynecology, endo-urology, laser surgery, cosmetic surgery, day care surgery, emergency medicine, cardiology, paediatrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery, dermatology, neurosurgery, neurology, ENT and Oncology.
Students of St Mary’s Convent School, St Anne’s Convent School, Avila Convent School and Teresian College presented various programmes on the occasion.
