Udupi: Government employees to hold a day's protest condemning assault on officials

Udupi, April 3: The Udupi district unit of Karnataka State Government Employees Association has decided to hold a day's symbolic protest on April 4, 2017 opposing the alleged assault on sincere and hardworking Priyanka Mary Francis who was recently promoted and assigned the post of Udupi deputy commissioner, Kundapur sub-divisional officer Shilpa Nag and Amparu village accountant Kantaraj on April 2.

The president of the association termed the assault on the officials who were taking action against sand mafia as shameful. “It is the duty of government workers to support sincere government officials. The association condemns the assault and obstruction of duty on sincere officials and holds a day's symbolic protest urging for the arrest and suitable legal action against the suspects. The protest will be held in the office of deputy commissioner at Rajatadri, Manipal,” stated the press release.

Association president Subrahmanya Sherigar has urged all the government employees to participate in the protests and make it a success.
