Mangaluru, Apr 9: The annual meeting of the Federation of Private College Principals Association of Mangalore University was held on Saturday, April 8 at Besant Women’s College, here. Retired principals were felicitated on occasion.
The joint director of collegiate education professor Faruqui was the chief guest.
He recalled his teaching days and considered it as the most fruitful period of his career.
"A Principals work is the toughest. You have sacrificed a lot to serve the mankind. God’s blessings are always going to be with you” said professor Faruqui while felicitating the retired Principals.
"The teachers have close interaction with the students. Once you are an administrator you loose that opportunity and are forced to be busy with the daily administrative work," he added and complimented the retired principals for their service in education.
Devananda Pai, correspondent of Besant institution was the guest of honour. Seven retired principals were felicitated on occasion. Sr Supriya AC of St Agnes College, Mangaluru, Dr Nery Cornelio of Milagres College,Kallianpur, Dr Y R Rao of SMS college, Brahmavar, professor Manmohana of Kukke Subramania College, Fr Swebert D silva SJ of St Aloysius College and professor Shankar of Vijaya College, Mulki were felicitated.
The president of the association professor Samuel K Samuel informed the gathering about the efforts of the association in settling several issues related to the University as well as departments. He appreciated and thanked the former leaders of the association for their continued support.
Dr Sathishkumar Shetty, principal of the host college, Ravish Kumar, secretary and Rajan VN, vice president coordinated the programme.
New Office bearers elected
The members elected professor Samuel K Samuel, principal of Crossland College as president, and professor Raveesh Kumar, principal of Sri Davala College, Moodbidri as secretary.
The other office bearers included professor Rajan VN, St Marys College, Shirva as vice president, Dr Aruna P Kamath, SDM College of Business Management as joint secretary, and professor Iqbal Ahmed U T of Kanachur Institute of Management as treasurer.
