Bengaluru: Customers complain about shortage of cash in ATMs throughout state

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Apr 10 : Several ATMs in state are facing shortage of cash for the past few days. As there is no official statement from any bank on the issue, customers have been coming back home empty handed after visiting ATMs.

When people saw ‘No cash’ signboard in some ATMs, it was taken as a routine thing. Some ATMs did not put any signboards at all. Some said they are under maintenance. But after visiting so many ATMs for some days, customers have realised that banks are not getting enough cash supply.

As per recent reports, ATMs belonging to private banks have more cash stock than the nationalised bank ATMs. But this cash is emptied fast as customers come to the ATMs where cash is available. It is not known why private banks get more supply of cash.

No supply from RBI

Upon enquiries it is found out that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not been supplying sufficient cash for the past few days. Sources said that RBI, which was printing cash in three shifts of 8 hours each every day, after demonetisation came into effect, has gone slow now. With 24 hours a day printing, proper cash supply was managed then. But with only one shift of printing work presently, naturally the cash supply situation has been affected.

But surprisingly no official word has come from any banks yet.

While Bengaluru is the most affected, other parts of state are also facing shortage of cash in ATMs. Mangaluru is not far behind.

Every Modi supporter should learn to adopt cashless transaction! Why every small big business not providing credit card debit card facility??? Instead of bhashan, advise every vendor / shop to go for cashless transaction, good for the country! There are so many eateries, sweet shops and they do not accept credit / debit cards in Mangalore as well! If you show card they will give a dirty look and ignore you! I do not see any efforts made to compel groceries, fish, vegetable vendors o accept cards!! Heluvudu shasthra, ikkuvudu gala! Every politicians has access to crores of cash currency while common man struggles!!

In Mumbai, go to any ATM, either it is closed, out of order or no cash. If one is lucky, he may get cash after checking 10 12 ATMs. All bank employees are busy listening bashans, mann ki baat and promises of ATM (All Time Modi).

All the Cash supplied by RBI directly goes to the Godown instead of reaching to Banks ATMs. Why only Karnataka is facing shortage?
