Kundapur: Moral policing - Right-wing activists handover couple to police

Silvester D’Souza

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (RJP)

Kundapur, Apr 14: Some vigilantes from a right-wing organisation caught a couple from different communities eating biryani in a restaurant here and handed over them to police.

The incident happened during the afternoon of Friday, April, 14.

The girl is from Uppunda and belongs to a scheduled caste community while the boy is from Kandlur and is from a different community.

Both of them decided to meet together and went to a restaurant in a prestigious complex near Kundeshwar temple. While sitting together, they were rounded up by the activists. Then the boy and girl were both handed over to Kundapur police.

The police, who sent a message to the parents of the girl, waited for them to come and when they arrived later in the evening let them to take their daughter with them.

No case stands registered.

Whether anybody eats chicken/mutton biriyani why these people (moral policing) are bothered. Caste is irrevalent. when they like each others company cant they go to have icecream/fruit salad, Chicken fry etc. whether these so called activists have not gone and ate with any one of their lady friends. Rubbish. And why these policemen entertain such cases.

''And why these policemen entertain such cases.''

because police are uneducated in matters of constitutional rights of the individual. And also they are thugs in uniforms.

I respect this act of mob vigilance. Mob justice was not there unlike other cases.
They did not take law into their hands and as per law handed over them to police.
Hope couple had good Biriyani. Might be a bit shame for families of the two, but it was legal and constitutional.

You "respect" these thugs? For what? Because they just bothered interfering with other people's personal life rather than bashing them up?
Do these thugs have a birth right to harass other people just because their personal choice does go down well with their bloated egos?

Tell me where you live. I will buy a house next door and just keep peeping at your window whole day long. Just that and nothing else. How long it would take before you actually pick up a fight with me though I have not been violent with you? Would you still "respect" me then?

There is no provision for moral policing in our Indian constitution. If moral brigades want to spread awareness on anti social elements let them do it as a programe. It is left for the general public to attend such programe or not. Finally parents are responsible for the upbringing of their kids. It will be illegal for anyone other than police to interfere when some one is eating in a restaurant, moving in around a park etc. Police also can intervene only if there is some specific purpose.

Thanks to PM Modi's governance, India is heading for 'Talibanisation' of India or Pakistan way of anarchy.
Is eating with opposite sex is crime in India?
I have ate with my friends from students life to old age get together. We all had respect for each other and cared for everyone. Religion was never problem for our way. We all independent to practice our religion.
Is 'Moral police' is above the law of the land and legitimate force? Can law enforcement officers, District commissioner and Local people's representative clarify in writing?
Why can't this 'Moral police' take social cause and get marry those sisters selling skin for living? Do they some courage to talk about female feticide? Why is still crime against women is highest even after 'Moral police' round the clock?

Comparing a kingdom to democratic country has no meaning. It is like comparing a apple with orange. So do not try to generalise and divert readers attention from this particular issue.

Saudi police act as per their law of the land. Here the article is about some chaddis who think they are above rule of the land and they poke their nose everywhere becoz they think nothing will happen.
