Mangalore: Muslim Leaders Condemn RSS' Verbal Attack on Madrasas

Mangalore, Apr 1: Secularism is the breath of Islam. Islam is not a manufacturing unit of terrorists, said Al Haj K S M Masood, president of Central Muslim Committee, DK and Udupi districts at the office of deputy commissioner here on Monday March 31.
He was addressing the gathering at a public meeting organized by Muslim Central Committee condemning the derogatory remarks against madrasas (Islamic seminaries).
Condemning the verbal attack on madrasas by some leaders of BJP MLAs and leaders of Sangha Parivar, the president added that madrasas are not centers where one embraces terrorism, rather here students learn to pray for peace and harmony. Madrasas are centers of worship and not camps of terrorism as it is billed by those 'leaders,' he said.
Islam never supports the concept of terrorism; instead it teaches one to love one's country and people irrespective of religions.
Requesting police not to have suspicious attitude towards the Muslims, but continue to curb the operations against terrorism, he added that the entire community must not be doubted and dubbed as a community of terrorists just because of a handful of misled individuals who carry out dark deeds. He also requested the police to continue their operations against terrorism.
