Karkala: Huge Crowds throng Yennehole Rajaputa Saraswata Convention

Karkala, Apr 13: A gigantic convention organized by the Rajapura Saraswata Youth Association (RSYA) was witnessed by huge crowds here at Yennehole on Sunday, April 13.
More than four thousand strong members of the Rajapura Saraswata community were present on the occasion. Shri Shivananda Saraswati Swamiji of Goa Kavale Math inaugurated the said convention and blessed the occasion.
Daya Nayak the famed 'encounter specialist' police officer from Mumbai was the special invitee on the occasion. During his speech he said "The members of the Rajapura Saraswati community are a peace loving people by nature.
"None of the community members have been involved in any criminal activities so far," he informed further giving a positive endorsement to the community.
Former MLC Anna Vinaychandra, Zilla Panchayat former president Balakrishna Borker, Karnataka Bank DGM Upendra Prabhu, Zilla Panchayat member Upendra Naik and Karkala Taluk Panchayat former member Hebri Narasimha Nayak were present on the dais.
Entrepreneur Kacheri Sadanand Naik presided over the function. Former MLA Gopal Bhandary and Zilla Panchayat member Santhosh Shetty were present on the occasion.
Earlier, a procession was taken out from Joduraste to Ennehole. The convention after due discussions came to a collective decision to form a trust to carry out developmental activities for the community.
