Kasargod: Curfew Lifted for Three Hours, Shoot-at-sight Orders Issued

Kasargod, Apr 19: The tension of the last five days is slowly abating but the administration and police are taking no chances. As per the latest reports reaching Daijiworld, shoot-at-sight orders have been issued, though no new incidents of violence have been reported.






However, the residents can take a breather as the curfew was lifted briefly for three hours between 4 pm and 7 pm on Saturday April 19, during which time shops selling essential commodities were opened. But the residents are too fearful of venturing out of their houses and streets were seen empty till even one-and-half hour of the curfew being lifted.

Also, five inspector general of police, nine deputy superintendent of police, twelve circle inspectors, 25 sub-inspectors and 1000 additional police personnel have been deployed in the district.






There was a peace rally from Karandakkad to New Bus Stand which was attended by home minister Kodiyeri Balakrsihnan, DGP Ramon Srivastava, MP P Karunakaran, Cherkalam Abdullah, MLA CT Ahmed Ali, C H Kunhambu, N A Nellikunhu, Madikai Kammaran, Sa'adiya secretary Manikoth Abdullah Musliyar and others.
