Mangalore: Harsha of Indian Express Elected President of Journalists’ Association

Mangalore, Apr 20: In a close finish, Harsha of Indian Express was elected president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association (DKWJA) on Sunday, April 20.
He won the election by a narrow margin of only 2 votes against Mohammad Arif Padubidri of Vijayakarnataka. The election was held at the Press club located at Lady Hill.
A total of 72 out of the 82 journalists cast their votes. Harsha was been successful in getting 37 votes and Mohammed Arif got a total of 35 votes. It was a tight fight in almost 2 decades.
Raveendra Shetty of Vijayakarnataka the outgoing president of DKWJA, senior journalist Malar Jayaram Rai officiated the election process.
Harsha will be serving as president of DKWJA for a 3 year term.
