Mangalore: Ursulines Rejoice as 16 Nuns Make Perpetual Commitment

Mangalore, Apr 25: It was a day of jubilation to Ursuline Franciscan congregation as 16 young sisters made their solemn profession. The young nuns promised their commitment in to live a life of poverty, chastity and obedience in the presence of their relatives, superiors and devotees at Rosario Cathedral on Friday April 25.

It was much-awaited day in the life of these 16 young nuns of the congregation as they made their perpetual commitment in the hands of their superior general Sr Dorine D’Souza at Rosario Cathedral here.

The young nuns promised the Lord to live in Poverty, Chastity and Obedience to the end of their life serving God and his flock. It was indeed an inspiring moment for aspiring young nuns to commit their life for the service of humanity.

Srs Anita Pinto, Benedicta S D’Cunha, Christina Mary, Jasmine Lewis, Leena D’Souza, Saritha D’Cunha, Vanitha M Ferrao belonging to Mangalore Province, Srs Cynthia A D’Mello, Carmeline Fernandes, Felcy D’Cunha, Mary Nirmala and P Mathalen Maria of Mysore Province, Srs Shanthi D’Souza of North East Province and Sr Joyce Lobo of Centre province made their Solemn profession in the presence of their parents, relatives, near and dear ones, superiors and hundreds of devotees during the solemn Eucharist offered by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore along with several priest of the diocese and religious.
