CK Jaffer Sharif Quits Karnataka Congress

Agencies

Bangalore, April 25: The internal divisions in the Congress party came to fore once again when former Railway Minister and veteran Congress leader CK Jaffer Sharif announced his decision to quit the Karnataka unit of the party on Friday.

According to reports, Sharif was reportedly upset since his grandson was denied ticket to contest in the forthcoming State Assembly polls.

Apart from Sharif, many top Congress leaders like Margaret Alva, RL Jalappa and BK Hariprasad had sought tickets for their close ones. However, the party high commandand`s decision to double the number of women candidates has disappointed all of them, as their close ones were denied the party ticket.

The Central Election Committee (CEC) headed by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi is expected to meet on Saturday to finalise the remaining candidates

Asking party ticket for grandson, son in law, son etc is not required in the politics. If someone needs party ticket let him come up of his own merits. Not like my grandfathers position shall be given to me ?

If Sonia stands steadfast, amidst all these blackmail politics and tactics, in long run definitely victory is hers as was the case with Indira, known for her unswerving decisions.
