Udupi, Aug 2: Students led by the local unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a protest at clock tower here on Wednesday August 2, demanding impartial probe into the death of student from Moodbidri, Kavya, in her hostel room.

Addressing the students, ABVP activist from PPC College, Rakshit Bhandari, observed that the head of the college has been claiming that Kavya ended her life out of frustration at getting mere seven marks out of possible 20 in Hindi subject. "A sports person always is backed by strong determination and happens tobe mentally tough. Therefore it is difficult to believe that she was depressed at the low marks," he argued.

He also drew the attention of the concerned to the information that the roommates of the victim had knocked at the door when they came back. He wondered as to why CCTV footage of the student's body being carried out, and knocking on the door are not being made available. He also questioned about not returning the track suit worn by the student at the time of her death to her parents, terming this as an example of irresponsibility on the part of the college management. He demanded for impartial investigation into the incident. Bhandari also called upon the young people and ladies to come together to carry on fight to get justice in the case.

"If Kavya had excelled at badminton and won medals, the college would have become famous. Therefore, there is no reason for hiding any details. Organizations of students, Stree Shakti organizations and others, which cry foul at petty issues but are silent on this matter, should organize agitations till justice is done in the case," he stated. He said high level investigation by responsible officers should be ordered. He also called upon Alvas to come out with detailed clarification on all the issues. If they fail to meet this demand, ABVP will organize protests on larger scale, he warned.

Another ABVP activist, Keertan, said that ABVP helps children to grow up into worthy citizens. He said that his organization is not limited to fighting for student rights alone but also other issues involving interest of the society.

Students of TMA Pai Polytechnic, MPMC and PPC colleges participated in the protest. Subodh Reddy, ABVP city unit secretary and Manjunath were present. Subodh expressed the suspicion that this could be a case of murder as the body of the girl was assigned to mortuary within half an hour of the girl's death before her parents reached the college premises. He said this incident has given rise to apprehension and doubts in the minds of parents, citizens and students. He said parents of the girl should be provided with justice through transparent and thorough probe.

After 3 weeks of student death in Alva's College 'Akhila Bhartiya Violence Parishad' has realised her death in not natural.
Interestingly, BJP supports Alva's and its wing protest on streets. Also nowhere ABVP is asking for impartial investigation or demanding the case to transferred to investigating agencies?

From the days of 'doctored video' in JNU to Rohit Verumal death in Hyderabad university or missing Najeeb in Delhi university ABVP never ever asked for investigation but only organised protests.

The girl climbing the wall to release the body was a cooked up story.
The girl lowering the body was a cooked up story.
The Post mortem report was fake.
The entire story was a massive lie.
There is not even1% truth in the story.
The Sari was in friend’s room.
Let the owner of the Sari show the proof of purchase.
If the girl was planning to commit suicide she would have used a rope.
All the forensic evidence inside the room were destroyed.
First of all the management should be charged for destroying the evidence
It very easy to disprove their claim by a good lawyer.
If the Police fails unearth the truth similar crimes will happen sooner or later.
    Our attitude-
Does not matter even if few more lives are lost we should not spoil the name of Institute.

More than a serious protest,it looks like as if the students are enjoying this mass bunk/street picnic.
This is the problem with selfie generation, easily brainwashed by herd culture.
    If one joins,all join blindly.
I'm sure if you ask some of them why they are here, they'll just go blank.

Meanwhile no such protest for issues like bad roads or for demanding more ksrtc city buses.

All I can say is that a common man has no confidence in our law enforcement authorities.

There seems to be conspiracy theory behind every death these days.

Those students seem to enjoy their time away from the classes. nothing else.

Students please don't stop your protest.fight until you get justice .we are all with you. Let's see with money and power what these goons can do? If god is for us who is against for us? God is the lawyer for poor If we become successful in cracking this case no matter how difficult it is we will get answer for all the 10 girls who died recent past!!in sowjanya case and others people protest only for few months later when these rich people compensate with government then everyone shut their mouth.
In this case could be either kavya murdered for vital body parts or something happened inside the room of hostel and kavya saw it. This could be the reason. The big mistake mother should have asked for post-mortem in other private hospital and checked wheather any body parts missing.if the body is buried even now it is possible to detect. Now it is our duty to protect all girls from the clutches of rich people.

Now i become FAN of robert Rosario sir..thankyou very much sir..for supporting poor kavya's family for justice. let CBI handle this case if our DK police is not given full power to solve it due to political pressure as one can see till the date there is no update from police dept?? .shame on people supporting Alva's institute just because it has 26000 students..Let the police do their duty with free hand then only real truth will come out and whatever may be the truth we will accept it..But playing this hide and seek game by Institute not at all accepted.

Well noted..its very clear that College is playing hide and seek game here to escape from law of land. its been more than 10 days still No news about post mortum report ? as it would take maximum 24 hours to release. All DK people should get united to get Justice for kavya and her family..We can see everyday protest But no updates from police department about investigation?? its high time to get united irrespective of any caste and religion.
