Mangaluru: JKSHIM, Nitte hosts talk on Indian tax system

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Dr Jnaneshwar Pai Maroor delivered a talk on 'Analysis of Indian Tax system and its comparison with US Federal system' on August 9 to the students of II MBA, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte. The talk was organized by the placement wing of the institute in connection with a placement drive for Grand Thornton International Ltd.

The session began with an introduction of the present tax structure in India and Unites States and the different categories of taxes in India. It went on to the pros and cons of implementation of GST. How GST can attract foreign companies to invest in India and the concept of 'Make in India' and 'First Develop India' (FDI) can be implemented effectively were also part of the session.

More than 100 students actively participated in the discussion. Doubts and queries were clarified through a question and answer session.
