Bangalore, May 15: After the Jaipur serial blasts on Tuesday, Karnataka is on a high alert, in view of the ongoing elections and the constant terror threat.
Speaking to this website's newspaper, DG & IG Sreekumar said that the state is on a high alert and all precautions are being taken to avoid terror attacks.
“We are conducting strict checks at all public places, government installations, mosques, temples, malls and other sensitive areas. We have sensitised our force and since companies from the centre are also in the state for the elections, they also have been pushed into duty,” he said.
He said that sensitive areas across the state are being patrolled. In Bangalore, security has been tightened at the High Court, Raj Bhavan, Vidhana Soudha, IT companies, malls, hotels, civil courts and other places.
Sreekumar said that the Jaipur blasts would not affect the elections, though the security had to be beefed up. He said that all precautionary measures have been taken.
