Mangaluru: Inaugural for new academic year held at St Aloysius ITI

Mangaluru, Aug 29: The inaugural function of the new academic year of St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute was held on Tuesday, August 29.

MLA J R Lobo who was the chief guest addressed the students and said, ““Make use of the quality training given by this renowned institution and get employed. But, once employed, do not stop your education. Aim to complete higher education in your field along with your job. You may think of continuing education through institutions which conduct evening classes.”

Rector of St Aloysius College Institutions Fr Dionysius Vaz presided over the programme. He blessed the renovated and upgraded workshops and facilities. J R Lobo inaugurated the facilities.

The MLA was also felicitated for his remarkable service to the society.

Shaestha Siddiqui, a student of St Aloysius PU College was felicitated by the dignitaries for exhibiting bravery in confronting a person who tried to molest her at a public place.

Birthday of the rector was also celebrated by cutting a cake and the students greeted him with flowers.

The students presented a fascinating multi-coloured cultural show built on a theme ‘Unity in Diversity’.

Roshan D’Souza, vicep-principal proposed the vote of thanks.

Fr Alwyn Veigus, Fr Eric Mathias, director of the institution, and Romius D’Souza, training officer were present. The programme concluded with the national anthem.

After the programme, arrangements were made for the parents and guardians of the students to meet the respective teachers.
