Kundapur, Sep 6: Two wild buffaloes were found dead with bullet wounds, beside Amparu Kollur, in the wee hours of Tuesday, September 5. The purpose of killing is not known yet.
Amparu-Kollur highway is aways found with traffic. The animals in this case, were killed near the road on a private land. Locals suspect that the animals were killed consumption purposes. The miscreants are said to have arrived in a bike or pickup truck and shot the animals with a gun. The suspects most likely fled after seeing other approaching vehicles, being unable to ferry the dead animals.
Forest officials arrived and conducted investigations. The animals were taken for postmortem. A search for the suspects has been in progress. CCTV footages between Amparu and Neralakatte are being gathered.
