Nigerian held for staying on a forged visa


Calangute, Sep 10 (TOI): A Nigerian national residing at Calangute was arrested by Calangute police on Saturday for staying in the country on an alleged forged visa.

Calangute police PI Jivba Dalvi said they received information from the Foreigners Registration Office, Panaji, that the Nigerian national, Udoka Stanley Iwala, 32, was staying at Khobrawado, Calangute, without proper documents.

Accordingly, Calangute police traced the accused, and on verification of his passport and visa, it was found that the visa was forged. He was arrested after being charged under Sections 468, 471 and 420 of the IPC, and Sections 7 (1) (3) of the Foreigners Order Act, 1948, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.
