Mumbai, Jun 10: Actor Suniel Shetty has filed a complaint against a stuntman, who allegedly threatened to kidnap his children following a dispute over the contract entered into by them. Joint commissioner of police (crime) Rakesh Maria confirmed receiving the complaint, which states that Puran Chauhan had promised to get Shetty's company Popcorn Entertainment permission to shoot on railway premises but failed to do so. After Chauhan failed to obtain the required permission, Shetty cancelled the contract.

Suniel Shetty said, "I have been travelling and have not been in the city for almost two months. It is only after Puran Chauhan started threatening my family that I decided to file a complaint against him. He has been using abusive language and recording my conversation between us and trying to extort money."
Meanwhile, Chauhan has filed a complaint against the actor in Shahdara, in Delhi, alleging that the actor has been threatening and abusing him.

Shetty said, "Yes, I abused him because he provoked me. He took the names of my children and even threatened to take them away. I will go to any extent to protect my family."

Rashid Mehta, president of the stuntmen union, said: "Puran Chauhan is handicapped but on his insistence he was issued membership in the special category." But Shetty questions the credibility of the man, saying, "The association should look into the issue."

The crime branch has issued summons to Puran Chauhan to present himself and give his side of the story.
