Panaji, Jun 10: Fiona Mackeown, mother of British teenager Scarlet, who was found dead on Anjuna beach, will not return to India till she is sure about her safety here, her lawyer stated.
"Even if she (Fiona) gets the visa, she will not come until I give her assurance about her safety," her lawyer Vikram Varma said.
Fiona has already applied for visa for her India visit to follow up the matter regarding Scarlet's organs which are with the Goan authorities.
Scarlet's bruised corpse was found on Goa's popular Anjuna beach on February 18. Two locals were arrested during the police investigation and the case is right now handed over to central bureau of investigation (CBI) for fresh probe.
Varma, who is Fiona's lawyer, said that his client is not sure about many things. There is also a possibility of look out notice (loc) being issued against her once she enters India. "What would she do, if Indian authorities continue look out notice against her," he questioned citing that Pakistan human right activist's look out notice is not lifted for last 18 years.
The lawyer, however, said that Fiona has full faith in the CBI investigations, which will go the root cause of the entire episode.
