Mangalore, Jun 13: The coastal districts continued to receive copious rains on Thursday June 12 too, worsening the scenario at the sea erosion affected places. Ullal in Mangalore taluk, Uppunda, Trasi, Maravante nearKundapur and Muloor in Kaup in Udupi district experienced intensified sea erosion.
A wall of a house owned by Srimathi Shenoy in Katpady perished due to rain. A house in Nadsal village suffered damages after a coconut tree fell on it. Three persons named Nalini Shetty(55), her children Nitin Shetty(29) and Navin Shetty(22) got injured after a huge banyan tree got uprooted and fell on their house at Mulki in the early hours of Thursday. All the rivers of the twin districts flowing westwards, have seen a notable increase in their levels.
Panambur received the highest rainfall of 16 cm followed by 14 cms at Bajpe and 13 cms at Mulki during the last 24 hours. Incessant rains are expected to drench the districts for the next two days too.
