Give accounts of Vanbandhu scheme: Rahul tells Modi

New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat's BJP government over "grabbing the land" of Adivasis and neglecting them, and asked "where did Rs 55,000 crore meant for Vanbandhu scheme go?".

Gandhi also raised question over "no mention of manifesto" by the BJP for the Gujarat elections.

In his 10th question as part of a Congress strategy of putting one question daily to Modi ahead of the Gujarat Assembly polls, Gandhi tweeted: "Grabbed the land of the Adivasis, their right over the forest was denied. Lakhs of legal documents for land ownership are stuck (have not been issued).

"Neither schools are functional, nor do they have access to hospitals. Neither homeless has been provided a house, nor youth have jobs.

"Neglect left Adivasi society in tatters, Modiji where did Rs 55,000 crore for Vanbandhu scheme go?" asked Gandhi.

The scheme was launched in 2014 by the Centre for holistic development and welfare of the tribal population in India.

Earlier, Gandhi said BJP has shown "unbelievable disrespect towards the people of Gujarat."

"Campaign is over and still no mention of a manifesto for the people, no vision and no ideas presented for Gujarat's future," Gandhi said.

Gandhi has been putting one question every day in a bid to take on the Vijay Rupani-led BJP government in Gujarat, where polling will take place on Saturday and December 14.

He previously put posers on unemployment among youth, women safety, education, health, "undue benefit" to power selling companies, state debt and the Prime Minister's flagship 'Housing for All' scheme.

After huge incentives to corporate units, the Gujarat government is left with limited funds for education, health, environment and employment for the masses.
Gujarat spends less than 2% of its income on education (the norm is 5-6%) with the result that 45% workers in Gujarat are illiterate or studied up to the fifth standard with the quality of education very poor. The quality of higher education is also resulting in the rising number of unemployed engineers and science graduates. Public expenditure on health is 0.8% of the state income, well below the norm of 4-6%. Gujarat is decelerating very fast in almost all health indicators. Forty-five percent children in the state are undernourished and the decline of maternal mortality rate has decelerated, leading to the state’s poor ranking.
The net result is 40% population is below the multi-dimensional poverty line. The growth is elitist, not reaching the masses. Though there are a number of central and state pro-poor programmes, their implementation is very poor. In short, the hype created around the Gujarat model is hollow and fake.
He is the first Prime Minister of India running away from open debate on any of his government's own policies under neutral avenue represented by International and national media.
Only time if PM Modi is speaking is reading from prepared script of 'Mann ki baat' or International visit or Election rallies. At the same all Tweet are very fast in responsive if there is event in the remote corner of the world. Why serious question need to be answered he and his minister practice 'Maun vrath'.

For any question, this is the only answer! Scams during UPA ruling.

But remember, even though there were many scams during UPA2 mainly due to coalition government, the prices of basic needs were affordable, but today you know how much it has gone up. If no scams or corruption in these 3 years (there are but media is silent), why do we not see reduction in the prices?
