M'luru: St Agnes College holds fruitful personality development workshop 'Persona'

Mangaluru, Jan 23: The department of Commerce, St Agnes College (autonomous) here, hosted an intercollegiate workshop on Personality Development: PERSONA-2018 on January 22 at the college auditorium.

CA Lionel Aranha, chartered accountant and solicitor in the city was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. He asked the participants to aim high and to never give up in life. He said that youth nowadays focuses on gadgets and have forgetting human relations. It is high time to be active and to goal oriented. He also mentioned that it is important to multi task and to place no barrier on getting oneself educated. He advised the audience to utilise their extra time to learn new languages, new skills etc.



Sr Dr M Jeswina AC, principal of the college, in her presidential address appreciated the response from the colleges and their zeal to learn and share knowledge. She said that it is not qualification that we hold, but education that helps in the development of one’s personality.

221 students from various colleges affiliated to Mangalore University participated in the workshop. The special feature of the workshop was that all the six technical sessions of the day were conducted by the final year BCom students of St Agnes College. They conducted sessions on how to write resume, how to improve communication skills, how to face interviews, skills to write aptitude tests, do’s and don’ts of group discussions and FAQ’s of computer technology.

Dr Devi Prabha Alva, HOD of Commerce, welcomed the gathering, Dalia D’Souza co-ordinator of Persona -2018 proposed the vote of thanks. Lynn Misquith a final year Bcom student compered the programme.

Lawren Castelino, Ashvija Mendonsa, staff co-ordinators of Persona - 2018 and G Yogyata student vice-president for commerce were present on the dais.
