Mangaluru: 38th All India Major Ports Lawn Tennis Tournament kick starts at NMPT

Mangaluru, Feb 8: The 38Th All India Major Ports Lawn Tennis Tournament started at NMPT on February 8. New Mangalore Port Sports Council and Major Ports Sports Control Board is organising the event from February 8 to 10.

Suresh P Shirwadkar, chairman in-charge NMPT and president of New Mangalore Port Sports Council who was the chief guest of the function, inaugurated the matches at 9.30 am at the NMPT recreation club premises.

A V Harinath, deputy chief engineer (Civil), NMPT, general secretary of New Mangalore Port Sports Council presided over the function. Matches will be held simultaneously at NMPT recreation club premises and NMPT officers’ club premises. Teams from major ports of JNPT, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Deendayal (Kandla), Goa and NMPT, the host port are participating in the tournament.

The prize distribution function will be held on February 10 at the NMPT recreation club premises at 4.30 pm.
