Agartala, Apr 29: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has advised educated youth to not run behind politicians for government jobs and waste time. Instead, he advised them to milk cows and start paan shops.
He was addressing people at a seminar organised by the Tripura Veterinary Council on 'The role of the veterinary profession in sustainable development to improve livelihoods, food security, and safety', on the eve of World Veterinary Day, at Agartala.
The CM blamed that the culture in Tripura has changed and people’s thinking has become narrow-minded. There is a belief that for ducated people taking up farming, poultry, diary, piggery is below their class.
Educated people chase politicians for recommendations for government jobs and do not even give a second thought on being self-employed.
“Milk is sold Rs 50 per litre. Graduates should get cows and milk it to earn Rs 10 lakh in 10 years. Instead of running after political parties,” he said.
He also added that instead of wasting time, if the youth had opened paan shops, their bank balance would have touched Rs 5 lakh. Deb says that the youth can opt for bank loans to start business and if they put in effort, they can easily earn an income of Rs 25,000.
The Tripura CM who is known for his controversial remarks and was recently ridiculed for questioning the rationale of awarding model-actor Diana Hayden the Miss World title as he felt she is not ‘Indian’ enough.
Earlier this month, Deb had claimed that internet and satellite communication existed in the days of Mahabharata.
